Background
Dan Davidson is an alumnus of the Indiana University – Bloomington College of Business and the Indiana University – Bloomington School of Law.
Professor Davidson has been teaching business law and legal environment classes since 1974, with stops at five different campuses over his career. He is currently teaching and serving (for the second time) as Chair of the Department of Accounting, Finance & Business Law at Radford University in Radford, Virginia.
Professor Davidson has previously served as a part of the author team on four other textbooks, and he has authored or co-authored numerous journal articles.
Professor Davidson has been the recipient of numerous teaching awards and several advising awards during his career.
Professor Davidson is married to Dee Davidson, a high school math teacher, and is the proud father of a son, Jaime, who is the marketing director for the Berkshire Theater Company, and a daughter, Tara, who is a high school English teacher.

 

Lynn M. Forsythe

Background
Lynn M. Forsythe received her B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.  She passed the bar examinations in the states of California and Pennsylvania.  She is professor of business law at the Craig School of Business at California State University, Fresno. 
Professor Forsythe has received numerous Craig School of Business awards, including the Research Award in 2008, and the Service Award in 2003 and again in 2006.  She held the Verna Mae and Wayne A. Brooks Professorship of Business Law.  She is a Coleman Fellow at the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at California State University, Fresno.  She is also a Craig Faculty Fellow in research for 2010-2012.
Professor Forsythe is the author or co-author of numerous articles on business law and business law pedagogy.  She served as a part of the author team on three other textbooks.  She has held the positions of editor-in-chief, staff editor, and reviewer for The Journal of Legal Studies Education.  She is currently advisory editor.  She received two recent best paper awards, the 2009 Western Academy of Legal Studies in Business Best Paper Award and the 2007 Allied Academies Conference Distinguished Research Paper Award. Professor Forsythe is active in the Academy of Legal Studies in Business.  She has served as the chair and vice-chair of the Business Ethics Section of the academy.  She has served in the officer ranks of the Western Academy of Legal Studies in Business first from 1983-1987 and again from 2006-2009.  She is currently the Proceedings Editor for the Western Academy of Legal Studies in Business.
Professor Forsythe is currently the Secretary of the Craig School of Business Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma.  She is also a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Psi.

 

Brenda E. Knowles

Background
Brenda E. Knowles received a B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Evansville, an M.A. from Miami University, and a J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington.  The first woman to attain tenure and full rank in the School of Business and Economics, she is professor emerita of business law at Indiana University South Bend.  She has been the recipient of two system-wide, all-university teaching awards, the Amoco Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award and the Wilbert Hites Distinguished Teaching Award for Mentorship.  In addition to being a charter member of FACET, the all-university faculty colloquium on excellence in teaching and learning in the academic community, she has received numerous other system-wide and school citations for excellence in teaching.  In 1997, the Student Association at Indiana University South Bend chose her as the campus’s “Outstanding Educator.”  From 1995 to 2006, Professor Knowles served as the director of the campus’s Honors Program (a position theretofore always held by liberal arts faculty members). 
Professor Knowles specializes in research on employment discrimination, pedagogy, immigration reform, and intellectual property law.  She publishes her work in professional journals and has won both external and internal awards for her research.  In addition, she has been recognized both nationally and locally for her professional and civic accomplishments, most recently through the W. George Pinnell Award for outstanding service to Indiana University.  Professor Knowles is an active member of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB) and of several regionals.  More specifically, having held every office, she is a past president of both the ALSB and the Tri-State Academy of Legal Studies in Business.  Professor Knowles founded and for over a decade served as the chair of the ALSB’s Research and Teaching Mentorship Programs.  In 1994, she won the ALSB’s Master Teacher Award.  In 1998, she received the ALSB’s Senior Faculty Excellence Award and, in 2007, a similar award from the Tri-State Academy of Legal Studies in Business.   A member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Professor Knowles is licensed to practice law in Indiana and is a past member of the American, Indiana State, and St. Joseph County Bar Associations.
